Electric Actuators

The new IMI Norgren line of electric actuator products are engineered for precision control and robust performance. IMI Norgren electric actuators are the best option for applications that require an alternative to pneumatic while meeting your customers’ needs for force and extreme loading situations. IMI Norgren electric actuators offer an easy to use, long-lasting solution that exceeds the competition in performance and value.

IMI Norgren Electric Actuator Advantages

Offers enhanced strength and robustness over the competitor - Less deflection and increased load and moment loading capability per carriage size

Minimized maintenance - Worry and maintenance-free long life, even in applications that require 24/7 motion

Unique Arc Belt Technology - Designed for improved traction, leading to higher thrust

Offers great robustness in a cost-effective package - Outstanding performance per dollar spent

TIP - When selecting an electric actuator, best starting point is the motion profile. This establishes the demands for velocity, time, force required (or torque) and travel distance needed. Now is the time to also determine maximum stroke required, as well as required minimum and maximum speed.

Electric Actuator Accessories

Broad selection of electric actuator accessories to complete any design application specifications.

Torque Tubes

A torque tube is a mechanical tube member of a single or multi-axis electric actuator system. It provides support and high stiffness to systems that span a longer distance than normally found in gantry systems. It provides backlashfree, torsionally stiff performance and is ideal for electric actuators that require an external support member.

    • Easy mounting and dismounting
    • Bellows made of flexible high grade stainless steel
    • Provides backlash-free performance

Idlers

An idler is a mechanical member of a single or multi-axis electric actuator system. It is built from the base of an NS80 or NS110 electric actuator but is assembled without the internal ballscrew drive system and associated external drive shaft. It does contain an external carriage assembly with an intern self-lube ball bearing rail system found on the NS80.

    • Stainless steel sealing strip cover
    • Smooth operation with high stiffness and moment capacity
    • Supports high loads in most any mounting configuration

Mounting Clamps

To secure an actuator to the machine frame, hold-down clamps are available. They are designed to fit in the extruded body actuator T-channel. Appropriated sized clamps are available for the NIDL80/110 actuator, as well as other IMI Norgren electric actuators.

    • Pre-configured mounting clamps allow for secure mounting in horizontal or vertical position
    • Designed to fin in the extruded body actuator T-channel
    • Anodized aluminum mounting clamps offer strength and protection in harsh installs

Linear Scales

In extreme cases where precision beyond the normal tight accuracy is desired, IMI Norgren offers external Linear Scales that provide extended position precision to as tight as 10μm. These scales are composed of a reading head and external scale and are available in incremental or absolute versions which can be added to your actuator, as an additional component, when included in the final part number.

    • Offered for extreme cases where precision beyond normal, tight accuracy is desired
    • 1μ and 0.1μ tyoes available, increasing precision by 10 and 100 times
    • Standard 10μm position resolution offers extreme precision for high precision positioning applications

T-Bars

A T-bar is a mechanical tube member of an IMI Norgren electric belt-driven actuator system. T-bars slide and mount into the T-slot on the carriage and are intended for customers to drill and tap as needed to mount to any NB80, NB110 or NST80 carriages. The length matches the carriage length.

    • Supporting member to provide high stiffness to systems spanning long distances common in single-axis actuators
    • Designed for customers to drill and tap as needed to mount to any NB80,NB110 or NST80 carriages
    • Offers customized mounting
